Harrah's Not Developing Online Casino Games

Harrah’s Entertainment is one of the largest companies in the international gambling industry. The company is certainly the most prominent within the land gambling industry, with signature land casinos all over the world. Now though the gambling company is looking to move into the online gambling arena in the hopes that the United States’ gambling market will open in the coming months and years. Earlier this year Harrah’s announced the launch of an internet gambling division to be based out of Canada. That announcement is becoming a reality as the company has already opened up a headquarters for the online casino gambling division in Montreal.

The online casino division is launching quickly and moving forward aggressively and many in the industry were surprised that Harrah’s chose to purchase the internet gambling games and system that will power the soon-to-launch gaming site. Earlier this month Harrah’s announced the signing of a deal with Dragonfish; many were surprised that an industry giant such as Harrah’s would choose the small albeit highly reputable Dragonfish internet software provider. Dragonfish is a subsidiary of 888 Holdings, a strong name in the online casino gambling industry that develops innovative gaming platforms.

There was definitely speculation that Harrah’s was going to create its own online casino gambling software for use in the market, but that is not the case. Harrah’s instead chose to use a tried and true product that has already been extensively tested in the market and will certainly have fewer bugs and zero beta testing necessary.
