Not a Fantastic Choice
The fervor in the online casino gambling industry is heating up this month as
politicians are beginning to announce their intent to run for the now vacated US
Senate seat that was left by Ted Kennedy’s death. That sad occasion has led many
internet gamblers to now perk up their ears and pay attention to the new
developments. Massachusetts residents in particular are watching the political
race now as their Attorney General, Martha Coakley has announced her intent to
run for the seat. There are now questions about her ability to still adequately
fill her role as Massachusetts Attorney General while also campaigning for the
seat. Supporters of the online casinos are also starting to now vocalize some of
Coakley’s more controversial actions and her very forthright objection to the US
internet gambling industry.
Coakley is actually so against the online casino gambling issue that it has
become a platform piece for her. She has taken the polarizing aspect of internet
gambling and used this to raise her own awareness and her campaign for the
Senate seat. She has made some very bold moves in Massachusetts to block the
online casinos from entering the state, and even further, she is also blatantly
and outright blocking internet poker from even making it to the people for a
vote. There are efforts in the state to put poker and betting on the next
Massachusetts ballot and the Poker Player’s Alliance has been very active in
this effort, but Coakley claims that the measure did not make it onto the ballot
because it was not written well enough.
In actuality, Coakley’s statement’s that online casinos gambling in all forms is
illegal in the state and in the US is not precisely accurately but her
statements are controversial enough to be gaining her some needed publicity as
the Senate race heats up. |
