How to Claim Forfeited Funds
The United States Department of Justice has been on the warpath for a while know
– several years, and the actual US online casino gamblers are finally reaping
some of the benefit of the DoJ’s actions against international gambling
companies. The BetonSports debacle has lit up the industry media for the past
several weeks as Gary Kaplan, the founder of the now defunct BoS offshore online
casino betting company, turned over $43.6 million in forfeited funds to the US
government. That money is now in a specific account intended precisely for the
internet gamblers negatively affected by BetonSport’s failure in the US market
back in 2006.
The BoS situation goes far beyond just the UIGEA and the ban on offshore online
casinos, BoS is in much deeper waters for its illegal gambling activity that
included money laundering and racketeering according to police charges. Players
all over the United States are now being encouraged to contact the US government
for possible compensation. All former BoS players who lost money can head over
to the forfeiture .gov site to fill out information and request a reimbursement
for funds lost when BoS left the US market.
The forfeited funds are currently up for grabs for those gamblers affected;
gamblers who directly lost some of the initial $16 million that BoS absconded
with are first in line to receive disbursements and take priority – but there is
a lot of forfeited funds and all ex-players at the site are eligible to submit a
valid and legal claim through the appropriate channels. |
