Building Out the Online Casino Brand
The Bodog online casino gambling group is one of the most prominent brand names
within certain specific markets. The company is best known for it’s entry into
the US online casino gambling market and its decision to continue operating out
of the US despite the UIGEA and the Department of Justice’s firm and harsh
actions against any gambling companies that defy the block on financial
transactions. That has not stopped Bodog though and now the company is looking
toward global expansion of the Bodog brand name through exclusive partnership
and licensing deals. In addition to the popular US Bodog brand, the Bodog brand
is now launching into Asia and Europe and most recently Canada. All of these new
partnership announcements coming out of Bodog are part of the company’s attempts
to re-brand and greatly expand.
Bodog is a strong brand name and the only thing that the company has as a
detractor is the fact that the gambling group does not really play by the rules.
Bodog Entertainment operates in the US market despite the fact that the US
government has asked all companies to back out of the market and respect the
UIGEA. Not only has the Bodog brand continued to operate in the market, but the
company has a bad-boy image because of the dispute that lasted many years
between 1st Technologies and Bodog. The Bodog internet gambling brand is looking
at global expansion now and the European and Asian markets are really the key to
the company’s ability to maintain long term viability.
The European market has a lot of competition in the online casino gambling
market and Bodog is still a very small fish in the big sea of international
competition. But that is just the process that it takes for the company to
slowly work it’s brand into the market. The fact is, although Bodog openly
operates in the US despite the UIGEA, the company is highly respected, operates
under strong regulations and is safe and fair. Those factors rank far higher
than the company’s decision to continue operating in the US market.
