Online Casinos Use Safety Measures
The internet gambling industry takes some very real pains and efforts to ensure
that online casinos are safe and secure places for consumers to wager and
gamble. Traditionally though, all of those efforts are overlooked in any large
debates in favor of skewed statistics and facts that claim that fraud and money
laundering are rampant in the industry and that gambling addiction is higher
within the internet gambling industry. Truth be told, the evidence and research
is inconclusive about the rates of problem gambling and the online casinos are
often under-recognized for their efforts to provide a socially responsible and
safe gambling experience.
This past week was Responsible Gambling Awareness Day and the Remote Gambling
Association (RGA) was one of the more prominent organizations speaking out and
educating the online casino gamblers themselves as well as politicians and
lawmakers that the internet gambling industry actively protects gambling
patrons. The RGA released a video for the Gaming Day that provides a five minute
tutorial of all of the efforts that technologies that the online casinos combine
to create a very safe gambling environment where underage gamblers are
effectively blocked with ID technology software, gambling and betting patterns
are tracked to monitor for problem gambling, and bank-level SSL securities are
used to protect all gambling transactions.
In addition to efforts to promote responsible gambling and protect the online
casino gamblers as they are playing at the gaming sites, many internet gambling
companies voluntarily contribute profits to problem gambling prevention,
research, and therapy. And still more gambling sites give back to the community
through programs and non-profits that focus on poverty stricken regions of the
world. |
