Social Networking for Betting
Social networking is the new buzz word in business right now – and it doesn’t
matter which business we’re talking about! Social media has taken over
businesses all over the world and it is providing the companies with new ways to
connect with the users and connect with the pulse of the community. And the word
community is key; social networking sites are popular because people want to
feel like a part of a community, to easily communicate and share information and
ideas – this holds true for the online casino industry as well. Betfair has just
decided to prioritize the social media aspect of gambling and betting by signing
a deal with Watercooler, a company passed out of California, US that has a
primary base of online bettors in the Australian casino betting market, but also
boasts socially networked punters from all over the world.
Betfair has a pretty decent stake in the global online casino gambling industry
and the company is keenly interested in particularly expanding the company’s
influence in the growing Australian betting market. Watercooler is a social
networking application that links the betting sites with social networking
profiles like Facebook, Bebo, Friendster, and others. By adding this new
application, all of Betfair’s existing punters will be able to gamble with
Betfair while also interacting with friends in their online social networking
profiles.
This technology is new to the online casinos and definitely for the betting
industry. With the deal signed and the Watercooler application nearing
implementation, Betfair users will soon be able to integrate their current
social networking profiles with the Betfair gaming site and engage in community
interactions on a whole new level. |
