Online Casinos Movement Growing
A grassroots movement throughout Europe is slowly but surely picking up speed as
the Right2Bet campaign is specifically gathering signatures from gamblers all
over the EU who want the EU Parliament to pass laws and rulings that would open
up the entire EU market to a free and fair online casino marketplace. Right now,
many EU countries continue to operate state monopolies and they continue to
block and ban foreign online casinos from competing within the market. A new
provision in the Lisbon Treaty however allows for the EU citizens to demand that
the government address an issue by gather one million signatures in support.
This is the where the Right2Bet campaign comes into action.
The Right2Bet campaign is looking to exploit the new Lisbon Treaty provision and
force EU Parliamentary officials to address the online casino gambling issue.
The new law is meant to empower the citizens to truly influence policy through
popular public opinion – and it didn’t take long for internet gambling
supporters to see the potential value in this new law. Although the Right2Bet
campaign has only just started last month, the campaign announced that it has
reached a cool 10,000 signatures of supporters.
Polls conducted throughout the European Union have indicated that the gamblers
themselves are eager for a more open and liberal online casino gambling industry
across the EU. Some nations have only state monopolies and it is within these
countries that that the Right2Bet campaign will likely gain quite a few
supporters. The movement is spreading and will likely attain the one million
signatures by the end of next year if popular support for internet gambling is
any indication. |
