Totally Sided Information: 2
The proponents for the online casinos in the US, those individuals supporting a
legislative change that would reverse the UIGEA and instead license and regulate
internet gambling, are also known to exaggerate a bit in hopes of strongly
refuting the lies purported by some of the opponents. Namely, the online casino
gambling industry is not totally safe and fool-proof. There are loopholes and
little ways that fraudsters can still get trough the technology and a truly
effective way to prevent problem gambling is still unknown. But that being said,
this side may stick a bit more to the truth than the other.
Opponents and proponents of the US online casino gambling debate have facts and
figures, statistics and research to back up their claims and highlight their
cause. Many of these stats are generated out of research studies conducted by
some major universities in the United States – others are actually funded by the
online casinos and gambling industry. As with any statistics, they are open to a
bit of manipulation. There is a notion that you can manipulate any pie chart or
graph to accurately portray the opposite of what the facts actually prove –
there is certainly a truth to that sentiment that applies to facts and figures
in the online gambling industry as well.
Basically, what it comes down to is simple, individuals need to do their own
research on the online casino gambling situation and make up their own mind
rather than falling into the trap of believing everything you see and hear in
the media. There are multiple sides to any issue and this holds true for
internet gambling as much as any other issue. |
