Online Casino Not Profitable
The online casino gambling industry has really ridden out the storm of a global
recession and tanking industries – internet gambling just never really
experienced that drop over the past several years. But now that the recession is
sinking in more companies are reporting hardships and failing internet
operations – even an industry giant like Ladbrokes. Ladbrokes is one of the
largest land betting operators in the UK and Irish markets. The company moved
into the online casino and internet betting industry a couple of years ago and
that venture has proven largely successful over the years.
Now though, the company has reported that it is not doing as well as anticipated
because of online operations. This trend though is largely contained to the
first quarter of the year – Ladbrokes has noted that it anticipates that the
profits will once again go up to meet higher expectations throughout the rest of
the year. Some of the promotions that Ladbrokes has run for the land and online
casino gambling and betting industry have proven less successful than was
initially anticipated.
And surprisingly, even though it’s the company’s online casino and betting
promotions that have slowed a bit Ladbrokes anticipates that the internet
gambling operations are solid enough to ensure long-term stability as the land
betting industry fluctuates immensely. Ladbrokes has been very frank with the
industry about the negative changes that have taken place over the past quarter
and also notes though that the company sincerely anticipates a more positive
whole-year report as the next several quarters will surely bring in better land
and online betting revenues. |
