More Horseracing Soon
Spring is a really busy time of year for the horseracing industry – the major
horse races of the season occur throughout the Spring months and really inundate
the tracks and the online casino betting sites with enthusiasts and punters.
This year’s enthusiasm over the horseracing industry has really taken a lot of
the online casinos and betting sites by surprise; the economic recession was
pretty serious in the United States and there were thoughts that the limited
availability of leisure funds in the market would translate into fewer
participants in the Triple Crown races. In actuality though, the reverse has
been true – gamblers have really shown their support for the races…perhaps using
the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness as a brief diversion from the continued US
economic crisis.
Two of the three events of this major event for the horseracing industry have
already occurred and the online casino gambling and betting sites are quite
excited by the turnout. Even through the internet gambling industry has been
largely profitable throughout the recession (because many of the sites also
operate for foreign markets that weren’t hit as hard by the recession as well as
US markets). Online casinos report that new gamblers are still signing up for
accounts but they are all spending less at the gambling sites per person. This
means that money is still coming in – and enough to sustain many of the gambling
sites, but not enough to really call the year a huge success for many of the
sites.
As for the upcoming event, the Belmont Stakes is the toughest of the three races
and the final one that a horse and jockey have if they have hopes of putting
their names in the history books. As the event cranks into high gear throughout
the end of the month and until the event takes place on June 6, 2009, there is a
lot of prep work being done at the online casino betting sites so that they can
effectively handle the large influx of bettors and information. |
