The Struggle to Confirm
Last month there was a lot of hullabaloo surrounding the announcement that PRWeb
would no longer work with the online casino gambling industry as a part of the
company’s main business practice. When the news broke, there was no actual
confirmation from any of the interested parties and many online casinos and the
industry itself were left wondering for days about the rumors. When PRWeb
finally affirmed that the company had received a Cease and Desist order from the
state, there was a bit of confusion from within the actual business. PRWeb is a
subsidiary of the Maryland based Vocus group – Vocus group was not planning on
actually releasing public comment on the issue at the time that PRWeb issued the
full press release.
The two parties were obviously not in clear communication those days or else,
surely, there would have been one clear and cohesive message coming out of both
PRWeb and the Vocus group. PRWeb was willing to admit that the company was
forced to no longer do business with the offshore online casinos because of the
Cease and Desist order. For some reason though, the Vocus group refused to issue
a comment on the situation at all. The entire situation was a bit strange and
there are many who feel that the Washington State government overstepped its
bounds with the order – but Vocus group didn’t even put together the briefest of
statements, instead just issuing a straight “no comment.”
Considering the business this company is involved in, it would have seemed that
there would be clear communication coming out of PRWeb and the Vocus group on
the new circumstances and the decision to break contracts with the offshore
online casinos as a result of the Cease and Desist. |
