Online Casino Player Comes from Behind
The online casino poker gambling industry was once looked at as a lesser form of
gambling than actually face-to-face land gambling. All of those perceptions have
changed, however, with the sheer amount of talent that is built through the
internet poker industry. Players from all over the world are able to sit in the
comfort of their homes and practice and hone their poker skills. The land poker
industry has seen an influx of talent making it into the poker professional
industry as a transition from online casino poker gambling. Just last week an
unknown from the internet poker industry took bested three top poker pros in the
Canadian Open Poker Championship to take home some really decent winnings that
will fund the players trip to Las Vegas for the upcoming World Series of Poker
events.
Several major pros were participating in the Championship tournament, Jeff
Masden and Phil Hellmuth are just two of the prominent names. Brad Booth was
also there and was bested as online casino poker gambler Benjamin LaBlond took
the game all the way to the end and walked home with the $100,000 first place
finish. The final face-off showdown occurred between Masden and LaBlond and
LaBlond was able to come up from behind and take the top prize right out of
Masden’s (a WSOP bracelet holder) hand.
The WSOP events are up next on the schedule for the land and online casino poker
gambling industry – the preparations for the WSOP were part of the reason that
LaBlond almost missed the Canadian Open. LaBlond though used the Open as a way
to transition into the land poker industry – “it’s definitely different, playing
against real players instead of sitting at a computer,” he noted. Now he has a
boost of confidence and some more face-to-face poker skills to carry him into
the upcoming WSOP event. |
