Santiago is specifically looking to pass legislation that would forbid gambling companies to use the internet for the playing of any sort of gambling game, this includes betting, casinos, and even the lottery.

As far as gambling is concerned, there will likely only be one organization able to continue the processing of bets and gambling wagers in the Philippines and that is the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. A chief concern right now that is likely prompting the change is the clamor that underage gamblers are finding their way to the online casinos.
