Chinese Market is Tough for All
Money can’t buy you everything - and one of the richest men in the world (and
indeed within the online casino gambling industry) is finding that out the hard
way. Calvin Ayres, the founder of the Bodog Entertainment group is looking to
start some new internet gambling businesses that target the perceived lucrative
Asian market – but that is a bit easier said than done. Major European online
casino gambling companies have also been eying the Chinese market in particular
with interest at the gaming and internet gambling opportunities that could
emerge in the coming years if the government agrees to license and regulate the
pastime rather than continue the current ban on the enterprise.
Ayres has reported decided to base his life out of the south of Thailand right
now as he attempts to lay lower for a bit, out of the online casino media
spotlight. Just because he’s laying low though doesn’t mean that Ayres is out of
the industry – quite to the contrary actually. Ayres is apparently providing
venture capital for some new sportbetting operations that are looking to launch
in the Malaysian and Philippino markets.
Ayres though, as a true rogue in the industry is once again looking to simply
enter the Chinese market despite the restrictions and limitations issued from
the Chinese government. But while the US government hasn’t gone so far as to
shut down any of Ayres’ online casino gambling sites outright, the Chinese
government has no such qualms. Couple that with some creative hacking that took
place on his first launch on his Asian-facing internet gambling operations and
the efforts are proving harder than once thought. |
