Gambling Questions in Texas
Rumors are swirling throughout the US that land gambling
venues and casinos may experience some expansions in the coming months as state
governments consider land gambling a valid way to raise more funds for the state
coffers as the recession increases the amount of pressure and strain on the
state governments. But some states are vowing to stay far away from attempts to
expand the land gambling industry and as opposed to expansion in this industry
as they would be by the suggestion of legalizing online casinos. And although
some of the proposals are only in their early stages, many are already
dismissing any efforts to alter Texas’ current position on land gambling.
The Texas initiative is wide-scale and really looks to turn this state into a
veritable Mecca for land casino gambling in the coming months and years. A
research report that looked at the implications of legalizing resort and tribal
casinos throughout the state provides what some call are blatantly overly large
estimations of possible land gambling revenues. Some of the opposition in Texas
is calling this latest push for land casino gambling venues nothing more than
“billionitis” as over-optimistic researchers promise big money from the proposed
land gambling ventures.
What you really can’t miss from these reports is the fact that while the
potential revenue from land gambling ventures is highlighted thoroughly, there
is no mention of the credible reports that note that the US online casino
gambling industry is worth as much as $52 billion in additional tax revenues for
the country should it be legalized and regulated.
