Online Casinos Still Sticky: 2

The Centre for International Policy has taken a keen interest in the online casino gambling controversy as it involves the US and the European Union. Basically, the fact that the trade compensation agreement between the two countries was sealed as confidential is just not sitting well with the international community. The CIP contends that other nations have a right to know how much the US is paying the EU because of the online casino gambling situation. Although there is virtually no other nation besides the EU that could make such a large claim on the US for compensation, other nations are speculating about just how large the compensation figure is.

In addition to concern over the amount of compensation that was given to the EU, a new concern has arisen in the past several months as the Remote Gaming Association in the EU contends that, on behalf of the online casinos allied in the RGA, that the organization is aiming to force the US market to open to foreign internet gambling companies. The RGA initially cried foul to the European Commission claiming that European online casinos were facing discrimination by the US government. Now though, although the discrimination charges still stand, the RGA is looking for the EU to press for complete access to the US market.

One thing throughout all of this confusion is for sure and a given – there wont be a solution any time in the immediate future. The online casino gambling situation is vastly more complicated than you could ever state and with a new US administration in office it will take a bit of time before all of the problems created from the previous administration can be effectively solved.
