Speculation with the Online Casino Industry
It’s always a little suspect when some of the biggest and most outspoken names
in the online casino gambling industry suddenly just seemingly drop off the face
of the earth. Many in the industry are wondering just what has happened to
Calvin Ayres and why has he dropped out of the spotlight. Ayres was once a huge
name among the online casinos because of his brash and outspoken attitude toward
the US government’s blocking and banning of internet gambling sites. Ayres owns
the Bodog brand of internet casinos and poker gambling sites – and international
company valued at roughly six billion conservatively.
Ayres was once the playboy of the online casino gambling industry, often using
coarse language and questionable tactics to get his point across – the media
though loved him and he always had a ready sound-bite for whatever new article
and feature was being done on his company and its outright refusal to comply
with the US’s internet gambling regulations.
Lately though Ayres has taken a step out of the spotlight though not out of the
online casino gambling industry. New reports indicate that he is steering clear
of the United States quite easily on his US $8 million estate in Phuket,
Thailand. And though he is laying low in the media, he hasn’t stopped his
interest in developing new companies for the industry. The most recent reports
on Ayres indicate that he is planning to provide venture capital for a
sportsbetting company to operate out of Southeast Asia in addition to a few
other projects that are surely in the works but have not yet been disclosed to
the online casino gambling industry as a whole.
