Online Casino Sites Could Save Land
The online casino gambling industry is endlessly debated in the US market and as
the debates rage on the individual state governments are looking to weigh in
their opinions on the situation. For New Jersey, despite the fact that the state
has one of the more lucrative land gambling Meccas in the US, the Assistant
Attorney General in the State, Frank Catania, is calling for the legalization of
online casinos in the US as a way to help the land gambling venues survive the
recession. Land gambling venues have been hit particularly hard over the past
year and Atlantic City is really faltering right now according to all of the
reports.
The US land casinos are certainly not the only ones that have been feeling the
weight of the recession – this has been a global trend really. But one thing
that many foreign gambling sites have that US land gambling companies do not is
the option of expanding the brand into the online casino gambling industry. Many
US land gambling companies have expressed and interest in the internet gambling
industry but those hopes of more revenue through the online commerce world have
been squashed by the Bush administrations many flawed laws and legislations that
have blocked this market.
Catania is preaching the same debate that the US government has heard out of
Democrat Barney Frank over the past couple of years – that there are ways to
ensure that the market is safe and that online casino gambling would
legitimatize the internet gambling that is already taking place all over the US
under the table and on the black market so to speak. |
