Repercussions for Online Casinos
Gambling in illegal markets just doesn’t pay in the long run and despite the
highly publicized cases all throughout Asia, some of the top gambling brands are
still pressing their luck and offering illegal internet gambling. For the
operators at Mansion’s Korea headquarters, a recent raid on the company and
detainment came as a bit of a shock considering the Korean government has never
previously prosecuted illegal online casinos operating within the market.
Mansion.com apparently has some base operations in the south of Seoul where
cyber transactions are processed.
The Mansion online casino gambling brand is pretty huge all over the world –
this international gambling site is known for having an innovative lobby, high
quality selection of internet gaming titles and sites targeted at a variety of
markets and offered in a huge number of languages. To some in the gambling
industry this detainment comes as little surprise as countries like Cambodia,
Vietnam, and China all begin to really crack down on online casinos that are
operating without a proper license.
The figures are pretty high for Mansion though – the online casino gambling site
apparently catered to as many as 2,700 Korean gamblers while it was operating
within the market – and profits are initially thought to reside somewhere in the
range of 30 billion wan. The Korean police are taking the issue farther than the
gambling site itself. According to recent information released on the case the
Seoul police are also looking to investigate those who actually gambled at the
site. |
