Picky for a Reason

It has been more than five months since the former CEO of the Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority resigned from his position – it has taken quite a bit of time for the Authority to find a suitable replacement and the online casino gambling industry has been watching the situation with interest over the past several months. Several weeks ago, however, the Maltese authorities announced that Reuben Portanier will take over the position and now head one of the more powerful online casino and internet gambling licensing jurisdictions in the world. The Maltese Gaming Authority is well respected in the global industry for its high standards and it is no wonder that it took them a bit of time to find and replace that the previous CEO.

As for Portanier, he has a lot of experience that he is bringing to the position and has previously acted in a consultory role with the Maltese Gaming Authority. He has some experience in finance and other areas and will undoubtedly pick up some of the more specific ins and outs of the online casino gambling industry within no time. The Maltese authorities have no doubt that Portanier will excel in his position and continue to help the Gaming Authority keep its positive reputation in the industry.

Portanier will actually play a pivotal role in the shaping and implementation of new regulations and policies that will affect all of the online casinos and internet gambling companies that are licensed out of the jurisdiction and operating off of the island. The previous CEO was instrumental in building some of the framework and foundations for the new legislation and Portanier will now be a part of the implementation of these new policies.
