You Wont Find Land Gambling
There are only two states out of the 50 US states that are strictly and
completely against land gambling in any form. Utah is one of those states that
has a zero tolerance for any form of gambling throughout the state. This means
you wont find land casinos and you wont find a state lottery – instead the best
you can hope for is the illegal online gambling industry. Online casinos are
pretty much a fact of life in this day in age. Even with technology like IP and
geo-blocking, and restrictions on payments, there is pretty much always going to
be a way for gamblers to spent their money at the online casino gambling sites.
For Utah, a state that has no gambling, even at the tribal casinos (which is
rare because of Federal regulations on gambling on tribal lands) it’s pretty
surprising that the Attorney General has come out in support of legalizing the
online casino gambling industry. Much of the industry was shocked by the
announcement even as the internet gambling sites and supporters of a regulated
industry cheered their approval of Attorney General Mark Shurtleff’s open
support for Barney Frank’s new bill that will make it before the House Financial
Services Committee by the end of the month.
The news that Utah is on board of a regulated online casino gambling industry
could have a pretty profound effect on gaining new supporters for the cause
considering the fact that few could have previously guessed that Shurtleff
supported a strictly regulated internet gambling industry. |
