Interesting European Competition
The European online casino gambling industry has been the source of a lot of
contention over the past several years – state monopolies have caused other
countries to cry foul and demand the opening of the market. Basically, state
monopolies and protectionist legislation expressly go against the policies,
tenants, and founding principles of the European Union. France is one of the
nearly dozen countries that has been in the hot-seat of scrutiny over the past
couple of years. With the announcement that the French government plans to
liberalize gambling laws and allow foreign online casinos to compete in the
market, it has softened the blow dealt by the launch of the Le Croupier internet
gambling site.
Le Croupier is a strong French online casino gambling brand that finally
launched its much touted 3D internet gaming site. Interestingly enough, although
French gamblers would love the opportunity to play on the site, Le Croupier is
targeted, at least initially, at the UK gambling market. French legislation has
not been finalized yet and even when the new gambling legislation passes, there
will be lag time before the country is able to license and effectively regulate
new online casinos entering the market. For that reason Le Croupier, for all of
its publicity about being a strong French gambling brand, is launching in the UK
rather than France.
The online casino site has now launched and the company has been sure to let
gamblers know that there is more in the works for this popular gaming brand.
Although just casino games are available now, Le Croupier plans to launch bingo,
poker, and mobile gambling offerings throughout the rest of the year. |
