Betting on the Bots

The online casino gambling industry is in a constant state of flux – considering the international nature of the industry new technologies are always in development. These sort of never-ending innovations and new software may actually have an adverse effect on the internet poker gambling industry in particular. Online casinos are used by gamblers all over the world looking to try their luck and hoping to beat the odds. For internet poker though, the game may just be headed out of the hands and minds of the players altogether. New research indicates that an alarming number of players are now using poker bots – or more specifically software that analyzes data during a poker game – to play the rounds of poker for them.

This move toward new technologies in the online poker gambling industry are actually fully legal right now – there are now rules of technologies in place to prevent the bots from playing at any poker room on the net. In the long run, that means that online caisno gamblers who still love to play the game of poker are at a severe disadvantage. Players sit down to a game of internet poker assuming they are facing off against the skills of other human players; what they don’t know though is that some of those online gamblers could have poker bot software operating in their stead.

The fact that the bots only use the information that is readily available to all of the players in the game is perhaps why it’s not frowned upon by the online casinos and internet poker rooms. But at the same time, most human minds simply do not possess the calculating minds of a computer and there is little chance that a natural poker player can win out over the computer in the long run.
