Banks Scared of Gambling Habits
The Irish online casino gambling industry is becoming increasingly lucrative as
internet worms its way into households all across the country. Statistics show
that an increasingly high number of Irish gamblers are making their way to the
online casinos and internet bookies to have some fun and pass the time. And as
internet gambling gains more prevalence there is increasing concern in the Irish
market that internet gamblers won’t be able to keep their internet gambling
habits from turning into a real problem.
Basically, with the statistics showing that Irish-facing online casinos an
internet gambling companies are making a huge profit off of the Irish market,
the banks are worried that some gamblers taking out mortgages are at too high of
a risk for not paying back the money. Some though are theorizing that the banks
are acting a bit like hypocrites right now with the discrimination against
online casino gamblers. In the past couple of yeas the banking institutions
themselves took some pretty huge risks with consumer dollars – where was caution
then?
Part of the problem can also come from all of the publicity and news that the
online casino gambling industry has gotten because so many of the sites are
still staying quite lucrative even in these hard economic times. Banks are
worried that internet gamblers are turning to the gambling sites for all of the
wrong reasons – and that is making the banks feel less secure in issuing
mortgages to any habitual internet gamblers. |
