Frank is Back on the Attack
Congressman Barney Frank is one of the online casino gambling industry most
fervent supporters on the political level. Frank is completely and totally
opposed to the US’ current policies in place that block foreign online casinos
from accessing the US market at the financial level. The UIGEA had a highly
controversial start and since that time has only managed to cause some major and
serious strains between some of the US’s most important foreign relations. Tops
on the list of countries negatively effected by the online casino gambling
legislation is the EU and Antigua and Barbuda. And as negotiations between the
US and these nations continues, Frank is back in the saddle this year and ready
to renew his attempts to pass new legislation that will neutralize the UIGEA.
Frank has been gaining support for his online casino gambling related efforts
for more than two years at this point and as the Democratic Chairman of the
House Financial Services Committee, he is in a prime position to continue
pressing this issue until a new resolution is found that is more harmonious and
positive not only for the US financial institutions feeling the burden of the
UIGEA, but also the European online casinos that have taken a major financial
hit by the US’ foreign internet gambling policies.
According to Frank’s aids, the Congressmen will introduce a new online casino
gambling related bill in the coming month at some point. There have been no
specifics released about the details of this new bill to be presented but it
will presumably resemble some of his past legislation that aims at neutralizing
the UIGEA and instead giving the US a regulated and licensed online casino
gambling industry. |
