Huge Partnership Announced
One of the biggest deals of the year was just announced by Playtech and Betfair,
these two companies have announced that they are partnering up in a sense so
that Betfair can effectively enter the online casino and bingo gambling markets.
Betfair has chosen Playtech to license a large suite of the company’s top games.
Betfair is really one of the largest international betting companies in the
world, and Playtech is regarded as one of the best software development
companies. These to huge brands will now share one roof as Betfair launches
Playtech powered online casinos and bingo sites. The new gaming options will be
completely integrated into the existing Betfair gaming platform so that gamblers
can seamlessly begin to gamble on the new offerings as soon as the Playtech
platform is successfully integrated with the existing Betfair platform.
This licensing deals really marks an important change for the international
betting company. Betfair has successfully cornered the betting market and
previously dabbled in the online caisno and bingo gambling industry through
licensing deals with both Chartwell Technologies and CryptoLogic; the new
Playtech licensing deal does not effect or negate the currently licensed
gambling products from these two software development companies.
Some of the interesting nuances of the new Playtech licensing deal center on the
fact that Bet fair does not plan to operate on either the Playtech bingo or
poker platforms. The bingo side of the online casino and bingo licensing deal is
primarily so that Betfair can augment its television offerings with a bingo
product. And although Betfair does plan to enter the online poker market, the
CEO of the company has noted that the company does not plan to use Playtech’s
iPoker network. |
