A Week for the Supporters
Organizations and individuals all over the United States have invested a lot of
time in the current legislation issue that is blocking foreign online casinos
and poker sites from accessing the market. In an honor the poker gambling
industry, poker enthusiasts are all gearing up for the excitement of National
Poker Week that takes place next month from July 19 through the 25th. Poker Week
is an important event because it will allow online casino poker gamblers to take
heart at the sheer size of the US poker gambling industry. The Poker Players
Alliance is building up to this week-long even with a huge rally in Washington
that is intended to really show Washington politicians that there are a lot of
US citizens out there really asking the government to reconsider the
questionable constitutional UIGEA.
Another thing that the Poker Week and the huge rally have going for themselves
is the fact that the WSOP is currently still running and the WSOP acts as a
perfect venue for the PPA to accrue new supporters and a lot of enthusiasm for
the upcoming events. The PPA has really done a lot of work in the US market over
the past two years and is the largest poker player organization in the Untied
States. The entire purpose of the PPA originated out of a desire to repeal the
US’ ban on foreign online casinos.
In addition to trying to gain support, the events are designed to boost out the
message about the online casino poker regulations and restrictions. Most
politicians are now aware about the details of the UIGEA, but there is still a
lack of true understanding. The PPA strives to really drive the issue home to
the politicians as they all gear up to consider Barney Frank’s new bill that is
going through the motions in the house. |
