WSOP Doesn't Stop Them
The WSOP is in full swing throughout the month of June and there seems to be a
hiatus of sorts throughout the WSOP season within the land and online casino
poker gambling industries. The WSOP is arguably the most prestigious event of
the year for land and online poker pros – with all of this hype and excitement
many gamblers anticipated that the Dwan and Antonius poker challenge would take
a break while the WSOP fever raged on in the industry. That is not the case
though and Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius faced off last week to continue their
efforts to complete 50,000 hands of game play against each other to find out
which player will walk away with a million dollars in cash.
Antonius was the only poker player from all of the land and online casino
gambling industry to take Dwan up on his million dollar challenge…basically
Antonius put up $500,000 as a part of the challenge and the winner at the end of
50,000 hands takes home the pot – that’s one million possible if Antonius can
beat out Dwan, but $500,000 for Dwan if he wins the 50,000 hands of online
poker.
Antonius has really surprised the online casino gambling industry by taking the
lead after a couple of thousand hands of poker against Dwan. Dwan is, undeniably
a pro in the poke industry and has built a strong name for himself over the past
couple of years. Antonius is a bit of a newcomer, but both men are talented.
Although they both competed in the WSOP, they busted and are now back to their
challenge. This could go on for some time more considering they have completed
just over 15,000 of the 50,000 hands they need to play before a winner is
called. |
