Horses are Where It's At
The horseracing industry in the United States garnered a lot of attention this
year despite the predictions that the online casino gambling and betting venues
would see a marked decrease in wagers and participation because of the recession
and hard times facing Americans and foreigners alike. That was not the case
though and the three races of the US Triple Crown gernerated a lot of excitement
and wagering at all of the major land and online casino betting venues. As the
three major races of the Canadian Triple Crown are now underway, the Canadian
online betting companies are reporting equally positive wagering habits
–gamblers are just excited to watch the races and have some fun and
entertainment as the recession rages on.
The first of the three races is the Queen’s Plate – the rave just finished last
Sunday and the betting and wagering fervor surrounding the event was pretty
intense. Canada’s online casino and internet betting legislation and regulations
are different from the US regulations. Whereas the US has passed the UIGEA which
seemingly makes internet betting illegal for most foreign internet betting
companies, Canada has not yet passed any sort of regulations on the pastime and
therefore it is blooming right now as gamblers and punters all over the country
have access to the major betting sites.
The Canadian Triple Crown is run slightly differently than the other major horse
races in the UK, Europe, and the US – the Canadian races allow geldings. The
excitement level is the same though as the online casinos gear up for a busy
summer of betting and wagering that is expected to come out of Canada. |
