Harrah’s Entertainment is entering the international online casino gambling
industry despite the fact that the US federal government has legislation in
place to block offshore gambling companies. Harrah’s decided earlier in the year
to go ahead with the implantation of a full internet gambling division of the
company with the understanding that the new sites and content developed through
the internet division will be used outside of the US market until the point
where new legislation is passed. As the new internet division was launched,
Harrah’s also announced last month that Mitch Garber will spearhead the effort
to develop several branded online casinos under the Harrah’s name.
Garber is already showing his influence on the new Harrah’s brand by moving the
company’s headquarters to Canada. The move makes a lot of sense in addition to
putting Garber back on home turf while he develops the new Harrah’s online
casino brand from scratch. With a new headquarters in Montreal, the internet
division is perfectly located to have a great proximity to the US headquarters
and main offices of the Harrah’s brand as well as have a bit of autonomy as the
new sites and marketing plans are developed.
Successfully launching new online casinos is no easy task actually –there is a
lot of work that goes into the development of the site, strategizing the best
way to entice the target market and demographic while also creating a lucrative
venture that caters to a wide rage of internet gamblers. The Montreal location
has apparently already been purchased and Harrah’s is moving quickly to in
