Strength of French Market

The online casino gambling market in France has really undergone some pretty large and significant changes in the past year. A lot of the changes have resulted from the European Commission’s efforts to liberalize the European gambling industry and stop certain countries from operating monopolies. France was one of the countries that operated a monopoly and prevented offshore online casinos from accessing the market. Now that the government has passed new regulations and legislation, 2010 will bring the first year of licensed and legalized gambling in the country. Earlier this year Playtech announced some intentions prep for entry into the market with the announcement of a licensing deal with Chili Poker.

Playtech is one of the largest online casino software development companies in the world. The software developer boasts an impressive array of licensed and branded content. As the French regulations are in development the online casinos and software companies are prepping their entry into the market through strategic partnerships.

The Chili Poker deal did not come as much of a surprise to many in the online caisno gambling industry –Chili Poker already has the positioning and knowledge of the French market to guarantee success. Considering Chili’s position, Playtech’s business assets will be beneficially augmented by the new agreement. In addition to the prestige of the Playtech online gaming software, the Chili Poker brand is only gaining respect in the industry through a lucrative and successful licensing deal with the World Poker Tour. These two companies are just one of the first of many examples of companies partnering up in some regard to strengthen their likelihood of making it into the French internet casino market.
