Faith in Online Casinos
US online caisno and poker players have a good deal of faith right now backing
their efforts to force the government into making changes to the US’ internet
gambling policy. The fact of the issue is simple, although there is opposition
from the religious right, there is also a lot of support coming out of some of
the organizations and companies that initially felt caution toward the internet
gambling industry. The land casinos in the US, as represented by the American
Gaming Association (AGA), initial approached the question of legalizing internet
gambling with a good deal of caution. Now, though, as the recession hits hard,
the land gambling venues are pretty supportive of the possibility of a licensed
and regulated US online gambling market.
Harrah’s is one of the largest land gambling brands in the world, and this US
based company has chosen to enter the online casino gambling market outside of
the US because of how potentially lucrative the internet gambling industry
remains, even throughout the recession. Harrah’s though is just one of the land
gambling giants in support of internet gambling. Other land casinos have a
distinct opposition to the online gambling industry and the AGA has been forced
to take a very neutral stance on the subject.
Even so though, the online casino gamblers are fairly optimistic that there is
new legislation underway in the very near future as pressure from the WTO and
the EU force the US government to contend with the highly flawed UIGEA and
consider alternative legislation. |
