Employees Up for Good Fun

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is definitely underway as we enter the end of the month and land and online casino poker pros are leveling the playing field in attempts to take home a huge chuck of change, a WSOP bracelet, and a chance to make it to the Final Table of the WSOP – a right of honor in and of itself. One of the great things about the annual WSOP is the fact that it stands on ceremony and seems infused with history as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of the WSOP taking place in Las Vegas, and really taking place period. For several years now the employees working the Rio Casino in Las Vegas are eligible to join up for Event 1, the Casino Employees Competition that holds a decent $500 buy-in and a lot of competition.

The winning employee, Andrew Cohen, was excited as much for the money as he was for the prestige that comes from holding one of the coveted WSOP bracelets. Bracelet holders really form an elite club of sorts that you have to win to understand – because money will only buy you so much, but Cohen will now always have the ability to say that he holds a bracelet for the most prestigious poker gambling tournaments in the land and online casino poker industries. The WSOP is all about sportsmanship and there is a healthy respect throughout all of the events for gamblers who have spent years honing their skills and are able to display those skills at the WSOP.

All of Cohen’s poker practice has really paid off this month with his win of a whopping $83,778 in prize pool money. Event 1 really started the WSOP out with a bit of spice when the final heads-up duel came down to two bartenders from two rival casinos! Cohen managed to pull ahead but it was an exiting play between the two players until the end.
