Not Too Varied

Playtech has announced that the company is really looking to expand the brand, license several more online casinos, and possibly takeover an unnamed company in a multi-million deal – all within the next year. That may all seem a bit ambitious for some internet gambling companies, but Playtech is an industry leader and the company has a really strong approach to the acquisition process. Right now there are frequent takeover and acquisition talks throughout the industry as gambling groups and online casinos look to the weaker companies like vultures as they struggle and are negotiating for deals that would add these failing companies under the wing of the major sites and companies.

That philosophy does seem to work fairly well for the online casinos and internet gambling groups – but there is something to say for streamlined as well. So much of the internet gambling industry has become about convergence, about becoming a one-stop-shop for internet gambling needs. But for Playtech, that strategy is not in the plans. The CFO at Playtech has announced that although the company is considering takeover deals and acquisitions, that the software development company plans to stay within the software development industry rather than really try to branch out and offer a slew of different services.

Basically, in a time where the online casinos are offering a little bit of everything, the CFO at Playtech announced that the software development company plans to only expand within its sector of the market rather than also venture into the internet casino sites and other complex sectors.
