Spirited Final Table Battle
The land and online casino poker gambling industry players following the World
Series of Poker were enthused this week to see that the Final Table of Event 38
was not a walk in the park for the winning player. The WSOP events have really
enthralled the poker industry all around the world again this year and thousands
of talented poker players have turned out for the events with the hope of taking
home some pretty big cash winnings and maybe even making it to the Final Table
of the whole event. As far as event 38 is concerned, online casino poker
enthusiasts tuned into the event were rewarded with a two hour heads-up
competition between the last of the two players. Mac Naalden had the
overwhelming chip lead going into the final heads-up, but the second player,
Steven Cowley planned on going down with a fight despite the fact that he had
significantly less chips going into the final table.
Cowley stunned the land and online casino poker enthusiasts with his ability to
stay in the heads-up challenge despite going into it with significantly less
chips – to the tune of 2 million less chips. The outcome of the event seemed
pretty much forgone as the heads up challenge began, but land and online poker
players were captivated by the game play as Cowley managed to play aggressively
and keep himself in the game for more than two hours.
Basically, there was little chance that Cowley was going to be able to take the
win away from Naalden as the heads up began, but as the game play continued and
the chip stacks fluctuated poker gamblers from the land and online casinos were
excited to watch the game-play unfold. This is the WSOP bracelet for Naalden and
almost as exciting as the winning of Event 38 is the large prize pool winnings
of $190,770. Cowley was handsomely rewarded for his poker gaming skills and took
home a decent $117,902. |
