What a Liar
There is a time for niceties and a time to just call it quits and say that
enough is enough. The online casino gambling industry has a lot of foes and many
of the anti-gambling crusaders have stooped to blatant untruths in their battle
to keep internet gambling out of the US, but there is a point at which the lies
just become too much. John Kindt, an Illinois professor and a loud voice of
opposition for the online casinos, continues to not only spew slander for the
internet gambling industry, but is now spreading those lies on radical religious
Web sites like the Focus on the Family Christian organization that has long been
a foe of supporters of a legalized internet gambling industry.
Kindt really blasts online casino gambling specifically as so much worse than
the land gambling venues. In a recent statement Kindt even went so far as to
call the internet gambling industry “the ‘crack cocaine’” of the gambling
industry because of the power of the internet gambling sites to cause gambling
addiction. One of the most upsetting parts of the whole situation is that Kindt
does not even feel the need to pretend to back up his facts and data that he
spreads across the religious right, instead he seems content to spread
half-truths and even whole-untruths a lot of the time.
Kindt’s technique is actually a pretty tough foe for the online casinos
according to a sociologist, Joel Best. By using the misinformation he is making
it even harder for the internet gambling industry to counter because the
statistics and information is just so off-base that there is not middle truth
that the pro-internet gambling supporters can aim for. |
