That's a Hefty Fee
Online casino gamblers and punters choose the internet gambling industry for a
lot of reasons –one of them being convenience. The sheer number of gamblers
turning to the internet gambling sites because of the lure of this new
technology is huge. A lot of the feeling is that, all things being equal, the
internet is just easier sometimes than heading to a venue. This fact proves true
for a decent amount of the traffic that pours into the online casinos and
betting/gambling sites. Oz Lotteries though has made a questionable choice this
week as it has begun to charge gamblers a pretty hefty premium to use the
company’s online services.
Basically, Oz Lotteries is the only of the lottery dealers in Australia with a
license to legally offer lottery tickets through the internet. That means that
any online casino gambler in the country looking to purchase a lottery ticket
without visiting a land venue has to go through this company. Well, Oz Lotteries
now has one detracting factor, the company is charging gamblers A$18 more for
their ticket than tickets purchased from land operators. This exorbitant fee has
angered some online punters who just don’t understand why the “premium” fee is
so much…and why Oz Lotteries doesn’t have a disclaimer noting that the internet
fee is significantly more.
Oz Lotteries response is simple, they claim that this extra fee to use the
online site to process the lottery ticket pays for maintenance on the site,
special features, and the “premium” that punters have to pay for the service
since it’s online. Oz Lotteries additionally states that it has never claimed to
offer the same pricing as land venues and that the company and site have the
right to charge as much as they choose for an internet lottery ticket. |
