Washington Event
The online casino poker gambling industry is gearing up this week and putting
the final touches on the plan to invade Washington DC next week as a part of the
National Poker Week. The NPW festivities have been organized by the Poker
Players Alliance and has the support of the entire land and internet poker
gambling industries. Professionals from the online casino poker gambling
industry have raised their voices this week in support of the aims of the NPW
and the general cause of legalizing internet poker in the United States. One of
the prominent reasons that the Poker Week has been planned to take place right
now is so that the event coincides with ending weeks of the World Series of
Poker (WSOP).
Several poker pros at the WSOP have indicated their complete support for the
PPA’s lobbying efforts for the legalization of online casino poker gambling.
Greg Raymer is one of the previous WSOP champions lending is voice and
industry-wide celebrity to support the Poker Week. The “fly in” on Washington is
planned for next week and, if last year’s “fly in” was any indication of what is
to come, this event is going to be hugely attended by supporters of a regulated
and legalized US online casino gambling industry.
The entire purpose of the planned “fly in” and National Poker Week in general is
to bring more attention to the issue and to show Washington politicians that a
lot of Americans are asking for changes in the currently overly-restrictive
gambling policies. Attending the event though may be tough for some in the land
and online casino poker gambling industries because of line up of final table
tournaments in the WSOP and some other major tourneys that will just be starting
in Europe and abroad. |
