Class Action Against US State
As if the state didn’t have enough concerns right now, the State of Delaware is
facing a class action lawsuit from three major sporting organizations. The three
organizations in question, the National Collegiate Athletics Association, the
National Football League, and the National Hockey League all feel that the
state’s betting regime is primed for corruption. Delaware currently only allows
state bets to process through Parlay, and although the sporting organizations
have concerns about one organization controlling the betting, the state of
Delaware has never previously responded. Not though, the state is actually
working on new wagering through the online casinos as well as land betting
venues as a way to not only alter the previous monopoly held by Parlay, but to
increase state budget funds.
It may be a little to late though as the three sporting organizations have
already filed a class action lawsuit against the state. There is a big change
going on in the US right now in terms of nation-wide approval of online casino
gambling and betting. And although the sporting organizations want land betting
changes in the Delaware market, the US sporting organizations are largely
opposed to the competition threat of the online casinos.
This class action lawsuit though has riled up the land and online casino betting
companies overseas as well as other sporting groups around the world. There are
rampant claims right now in regards to corruption possibilities as a result of
the betting in the State of Delaware and even other sporting organizations are
sighting that those claims are a bit bunk. But the case is still pending so
there is no telling the extent to, and how far this will go. |
