Online Casinos Come Out Tops
The poor state of the economy is certainly most of the talk these days – between
the slowing land gambling industry to crunches felt throughout the online casino
gambling industry, there is a lot of worrying and hypothesizing come from
analysts and economists. But a recent TimesOnline piece gave an opinion that
will be welcomed by the internet gambling industry. The article notes that the
online casinos and internet gambling sites will actually fare well throughout
the recession.
Part of this predicted survival of the online casino gambling industry is
because basic goods and services are once again becoming affordable to the
middle class – and once the pinch is taken off, those individuals are more
likely to then gamble with some of their leisure income. The TimesOnline piece
is a very long read – but the author is respected for seeing some of the major
market and economic trends long before the mainstream economists are ready to
admit. Bryan Appleyard’s article is not particularly kind to the businessmen and
bureaucrats that were living high on the hog until the current recession – in
fact much of his scathing commentary is directed at these individuals.
Appleyard notes that the current recession was actually well-needed. Some of the
more basic goods and services like “good wine, restaurants, business-class
tickets, ski vacations, and honeymoons” had become grossly overpriced. As these
luxuries become more affordable gamblers will once again see the online casinos
as a viable place to also spend some of their leisure income. And as all of the
world comes out on the other side of the recession, Appleyard notes that
businessmen, bankers, and those on Wall Street just might find themselves a bit
more humble at the end of the day.
