Italian Sensibilities Considered

The opening of the Italian online casino gambling market has proven quite profitable for the handful of gaming companies that managed to snag an Italian gambling license. And now that companies like Playtech are legally able to offer games of chance to the Italian market, Playtech announced that its previously free-play internet poker site would now offer a full range of real-money online poker gambling options. Additionally, Playtech’s statement announcing the launch of the real-money poker games included information about Playtech’s strategy within the market and plans for expansion. The Italian betting market has only just opened in the past year to include internet betting and poker – there is speculation that online casino gambling could be imminent as well.

Playtech is one of four online casino and internet gambling companies to make the switch to real-money poker gambling. Playtech’s free-play option has been in place for several months now as a way to build up a player base and build brand identity in the market prior to the launch of the real-money poker gambling. Playtech noted that the Italian gaming offerings and feel of the site will differ from some of the company’s other sites because Playtech has altered the offerings to take into consideration the unique Italian market.

Playtech’s Italian facing site will include enhanced P2P offerings as this is an integral part of what the Italian market demands from online gaming offerings. Additional customization of the software and offerings has already been conducted and the newly launched real-money poker offerings are going over well with the Italian gambling market.
