Record Achieved
The online casino gambling industry banned together this past weekend to break
the world record for the number of poker gamblers in play, simultaneously. Poker
Stars organized the event and widely marketed the attempt at a Guinness Book of
World record to all of the site’s loyal poker players. As news of the feat got
out, even players from other online casino poker sites joined Poker Stars in
hopes of joining the action. The event went off without a hitch – the tourney
reached the goal of 35,000 registrants by a full day before the tournament was
scheduled.
The tourney event wasn’t remarkable by other standards, the $500,000 prize pool
was surely coveted by all of the online casino poker players – but that is by
far a smaller prize pool than many of the tourneys at the popular Poker Stars
site. Gamblers joined the fun largely for the sake of joining history as Poker
Stars broke the world record for simultaneous online casino poker playing
action. The buy-in was low…just $11, and with 35,000 players the end result
meant a huge money bubble and $30,000 to the winning player, Stan34Powa.
Poker Stars is considered a giant in the online casino poker gambling industry –
the site boasts the largest poker network in the world and enjoys all of the
perks of being on the top. Even with that being said however, internet casinos
like Poker Stars are always looking for ways to boost player enthusiasm and pull
in more free marketing and advertising. |
