The Wait is On
The current US administration has been very adamant that it is as different as
can be from the Bush administration. Obama has taken great strides in his first
month in office to repeal some of the controversial policies that the previous
administration rammed into effect right at the end of Bush’s term. And even
though there seems to be lot that Obama has already done in his short time in
office, there is apparently so much more waiting in the wings. Obama’s
administration has not really gone on the record about how it plans to address
the US’s currently highly controversial online caisno gambling policy. And even
as his first month in office is not yet officially reached its conclusion, the
European Commission has announced that it is headed to Washington in the coming
weeks to discuss the US’s online gambling policies.
And as if a group of EU delegates making their way to Washington to discuss the
online casino gambling industry were not enough, the European Commission has
noted that these talks are a last effort at resolution before the EU takes its
issue with US policy to the World Trade Organization. With a new administration
in place though there are high hopes that a resolution can be reached –
otherwise the US government is looking at facing hefty fines or trade
compensation discussions with a slew of countries all over the world claiming
that the US protectionist online caisno gambling policies have hurt their
businesses. |
