Is it Going to Work?
China is emerging as one of the power-houses of the new millennium, the country
holds the largest percentage of the world population and similarly holds a whole
lot of technology and new advancements that really alter the way that the world
perceives this country. One area though that is causing a bit of speculation is
the Chinese government’s decision to continue to outright ban online casinos
from operating and accepting any of China’s more than 180 million Internet
users. The internet is a powerful medium – it has transformed the information
age and makes nearly any picture, data, or information available right at your
fingertips. But China has some strict anti-online caisno gambling legislation in
place that most of the world perceives as a bit outdated.
The fact of the matter is, with such a huge population China is going to have an
increasingly difficult time blocking all of the online casinos and catching
those perpetrators who choose to break the law. In addition to the elusive
nature of the internet, wireless internet has once again transformed the way
that people access the internet and from where. Vietnam is now encountering some
problems with its ban on internet gambling and its population is considerably
smaller than China’s.
The US is a prime example of how a ban on online casinos is less than effective.
As the internet age matures analysts are tending to agree that tight regulation
of the industry is the only real way to stop those who want to gamble through
the internet from finding sites that are sketchy and operate under the
government’s radar. |
