Days Away at this Point
The Asian online casino gambling industry may be a bit mythical at this point –
there hasn’t really been a wide-scale opening of the Asian market as so many
gambling companies have anticipated and hoped for. But there has been some
serious expansions and growth in the internet gaming market. With online casinos
still strictly regulated against in much of Asia, the internet gambling
companies have turned to i-gaming as a way to lay a foundation and brand down
within the Asian market. As all of these European and foreign companies enter
the market over the past several years there has been a call for an Asian
specific gaming expo. This year marks the seventh year running for the annual
Asian i-Gaming Congress and Expo.
The event is highly anticipated throughout the online caisno gambling industry –
representatives and executives from all of the major land and internet gambling
companies will make an appearance and companies launching new products often
take this as an opportunity to showcase their new offerings at the expo part of
the event. This year’s Congress and Expo 2009 is just days away. Starting on
February 24th the event runs for three days and will welcome some very prominent
executives from the online casino gambling industry as keynote speakers and
guest lecturers.
As for a venue, the event takes place in Macau – a gambling Mecca right now with
annual revenues that will likely surpass the Las Vegas strip in the coming
years. Online casino gambling is only just beginning in the region, but land
gambling is firmly established already. The event has attracted more 500
participants in years past and the event organizers anticipate that this year’s
attendance will match or top those figures. |
