New Plan for Tasmania
The Tasmanian government is back in the news again this month – but the news is
quite a bit better than that hugely flawed and publicly flogged plan to undercut
the Australian online casino gambling tax structure. Several months ago the
Tasmanian government announced that the small island state of Australia was
going to charge internet gambling companies just one flat rate to operate in the
market, a deal that sounded a lot better than the current annual revenue-based
taxation structure in the rest of Australia. This action though created a public
fervor as the other Aussie states countered with new tax legislation that would
keep the online casinos from leaving the state. This new plan though is a whole
lot kinder to the rest of Australia, Tasmania has announced a global expansion
for Tote Tasmania.
The state of Tasmania has been hit pretty hard by the economic recession, just
like so many other countries all over the world. In this case though the
Tasmania has come up with a workable solution to raising the amount of gambling
revenue coming into the state without undercutting businesses in other Aussie
states. Tote Tasmania is an incredibly strong brand right now, and the State
Treasurer of Tasmania, Michael Arid, notes that it has extremely high market
value right now. The brand is well run by the sate government and Arid feels
that there is a very real market for Tote Tasmania in the international online
casino gambling industry.
In the coming months Tote Tasmania plans to really overhaul some of the older
technologies that are still in place, all in preparation for an international
launch of the online casino gambling and betting brand. The company has
incredibly strong year on year growth; another factor making it ripe for
expansion into larger and more competitive markets. |
