Saving Animals with Online Casinos
Global warming concerns are rampant right now as governments from around the
world are meeting in Copenhagen to discuss the ways that the world can move
forward. Key concerns are the evidence that climate change and just people have
had on the environment and animals. And while the politicians argue out high
level ways to prevent the need for change, Australian online casinos and
gambling sites could become a key part to the solution in the country. A new
movement by an Australian professor in Queensland has proposed that the state
governments impose a fraction of a percent in annual taxes on the online casino
sites – that money would then be used to as campaign funding for current efforts
to save endangered animals from their eventual extinction.
This is not the first time that the online casinos have been leveraged as a way
to implement highly important social problems that are not getting the proper
amount of state funding and action. In the US some politicians are pressing the
internet gambling industry as a way to fund new universal healthcare
initiatives. So in that way, it’s not a particularly new line of thinking – but
is does have some extreme potential as the online casino sites could really
supply the needed money to prevent more extinctions from happening throughout
the Australian continent.
The tax is small – so small in fact that it’s hard to argue with it because of
just how much good it will do. With just a 0.4 percent tax on the online casinos
the Australian campaigns would have the money to lend awareness to the growing
concerns as well as perhaps save some of the 372 species that are on the
endangered list. The money would be used for educating the public as well as for
conservation efforts. |
