Online Casino License Pulled
More reports are surfacing about the precise reason why the UK Gambling
Commission chose to pull the gambling license from Paradise Bet, a small but
profitable UK facing gambling group operating in the UK market. As soon as the
license was pulled the industry media linked the situation to the Gangland raids
in Italy. The Italian police have been investigating specific instances of
organized crime within the online casino gambling industry, and in this case,
the Italian mafia were behind the Paradise Bet operations according the evidence
gathered in Italy. This is one of the big fears in the online casino gambling
industry; that the poor judgments of one internet gambling group will reflect
poorly on the whole industry.
More information has been released by the Italian police; Italian authorities
apparently seized more than $300 million in assets. One of these assets was
Paradise Bet. As soon as the UK government found out about the online casino
betting group’s link to the Italian mafia the UK Gambling Commission pulled its
license to operate…perhaps a little late though considering the Italian
authorities no doubt plan to completely disband the online gambling group.
To that end though, the UK Gambling Commission announced a planned investigation
into the online casino gambling group – and along with information obtained by
the Italian investigation, a clearer picture of Paradise Bet’s exact link to the
Italian mafia will be uncovered. Italian police have arrested Savino Parisi in
the case because of his strong ties to the mafia family under investigation
right now. |
