The Italian internet gambling industry is in for a thrill as the New Year kicks off. Italy is one of the EU countries that has only slowly begun to conform to the European Commission’s demands for an inclusive internet gambling industry. That is changing though and poker gambling fans will have full access to Texas Hold’em poker games through the site come January. This will be one of the first regulated poker sites to begin operation in the Italian market because the Italian gambling authorities are only very cautiously licensing sites – and is still specifically not licensing online casinos.

With more and more gambling groups obtaining gambling licenses for internet gambling related sectors that are not online casinos, gambling experts predict that the Italian market will be one of the largest booming sectors of the European market in 2010. There is a huge potential for growth in this market and there is huge expectation that internet poker is going to be a hit in the market.
