Online Casinos Welcomed
PayPal has made a monumental decision for the company – this popular payment
processing company will now accept internet gambling transactions. PayPal has an
extremely large market in the United States and this is where the e-wallet and
payment processing company really made a name and established itself as a highly
reputable company. Now that the company has been operating in the UK and
European markets for some time though, the company is looking to branch into
some of the more lucrative payment processing markets – and that is where the
online casinos come into play. PayPal cannot offer payment processing services
within the US market because of the continued ban on offshore internet gambling
but there is absolutely nothing stopping the payment processing company from now
moving into the lucrative European gambling industry.
PayPal has previously had a very strict policies against the online casinos and
this was likely very pointedly because of PayPal’s strong presence in the US
market. But for all that the US market is closed to foreign online casinos and a
legal internet gambling industry, there looks to be change on the horizon. And
that is where PayPal has decided to make a move in the European market. Should
the US market finally open to internet gambling then an established European
presence will only assist the company in entering the US market should the time
come.
Analysts have estimated that the US market is worth a huge sum of money should
it become legalized in the near future. PayPal is like many payment processing
companies, and the online casinos themselves – there is no telling how long
before the US market opens but it will surely pay to be quite ready to enter it
once the government changes its stance on internet gambling. |
